Day 4: London

Camden Lock,  Primrose Hill and Regent's Park

Today we went to Camden Lock market. It's a bit like Venice Beach and Berkeley,  CA.  You feel a bit dirty and a little unsafe mixed with a smudge of why did I come here... with kids and my double stroller.
If you need a t-shirt, this place is for you. The best part? The fruit stands were cheap and good.

From Camden we walked through a beautiful tucked away river walk to Primrose Hill.  I did not see Gwyneth Paltrow. Primrose Hill is super cute and the type of area I would like to find for our flat. Cute pastel shops and beautiful houses. We stopped at Primrose Patisserie for a coffee and snack before heading through primrose hill park to regent's park. I really liked both parks. They are much quieter than Hyde park. Less traffic, less people. Really pretty green parks with happy kids and dogs. I don't think I saw a single dog in Hyde Park yesterday.

We went to the zoo at regent's park.  $70 pounds later we entered the zoo. That's like $120 usd! I would like a nanny to walk the kids around the zoo and a pedicure and a drink in hand for paying that much! Right? It was a nice zoo though. The membership for one adult and up to 5 kids (sorry if that's you!) is $130 if you use a bank debit or $170 if you pay on site.

All in all I liked the Primrose Hill area today. I want to find a cute place to live near nice parks with a good 5 mile loop and a couple miles walking distance for work or 20 commute. Oh and good public schools too maybe. Too much to ask? We will find out.

Boy Claassens was een van die positiefste en geselligste mense wat ek nog ooit die voorreg gehad het om te ken. Ek dink nie ek het al iemand anders ontmoet wat so veel keer op sy verjaarsdag die foon moes antwoord nie. Week 2: London

Week 2 was a walking week. It never rains in London! It's been sunny and warm for 2 weeks now! We have been walking the city all week and exploring. This place is so beautiful with amazing buildings, parks, shops, and people. The trees and flowers are in full bloom and the baby ducklings are in all the ponds. Favorite sites from this week: Primrose Hill, Regent's Park, Hyde Park, Kensington, Holland Park, Buckingham Palace, etc. We revisited favorite playgrounds for the girls to be girls,  princess Diana memorial playground and Coram's Fields playground. There is so much to see here. We saw some familiar faces this week which was so nice. We met Andre Friday night after work at Buckingham Palace and walked home. What a historic walk past every famous building in history. Now I'm sitting in our living room listening to St Paul's Cathedral church bells telling me it's time for bed. Happy 3 day weekend! ...

The Oprah Effect of renting our house

So I randomly put our house up for rent on Zillow and Craigslist on Tuesday this week. Immediately my phone started ringing nonstop and my email was flooded with interest. I had no idea this would happen. I thought people might want to see the house in a week or so, giving me plenty of time to clean and get organized. But alas, the interest was instant and we had many families on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday come see our house. Now we just need to figure out how to rent out our house. Do we use an online rental agreement or use a rental agency? So Monday we go to get our Bio-Metrics done in Tukwila, WA. I guess 5 days after this we should have our Visas in hand and be ready to fly to London! I guess I should put in my 2 weeks at work soon right? But for now it's business as ususal.
